Peter Jackson has posted his first video blog from the set of The Hobbit and if you’re a fan of Lord of the Rings, you’re about to be very happy.  Included in the ten minute blog are the soundstages (including Bag End, Rivendell, and another set you might know…) the costume department, and you can watch as Jackson blocks a scene with Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and a huge number of Dwarfs.  In addition to everything I’ve already mentioned, just hearing Jackson talk about being back in Middle Earth and hearing the music made me so happy.  As many of you might know, the Lord of the Rings movies are some of my favorite films of all time.  The fact that we’re getting two Hobbit movies and it’s the same team of people behind the scenes, I cannot fully express how excited I am to see these films.  If you’re a LOTR fan, you really want to hit the jump.

The first Hobbit movie is set to be released in December 2012 and they are filming in 3D.  The scripts have been written by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson.  The video is from Peter Jackson’s Facebook page, so make sure to “like” it.

Hobbit cameo feels like ”family reunion”: Elijah Wood

July 1st, 2011 by xoanon | No Comments »

London, Jun 28 (PTI) Actor Elijah Wood feels he”s heading to a “family reunion” as he prepares to film a cameo for ”The Hobbit”.

The 30-year-old actor will be seen in a small role in the film and he feels at home on the sets because he grew so close to many of the cast and crew during his ”Lord Of The Rings” days.

“It feels like a family reunion that I”m going back for. A number of the cast members are coming back. I went back (to New Zealand) a year ago in February just to visit. I was down in Australia, so I went over for nine days and caught up with a bunch of people. It was wild, man, to be back in that whirlwind, see all those people, but working in Middle Earth again. It was really cool to be back there, and I feel like it”s going to feel the same.
