Eva Herzigova Wonderbra Billboard Named Most Iconic

First Posted: 04/ 3/11 11:10 AM ET Updated: 04/ 3/11 11:22 AM ET

Wonderbra's "Hello Boys" billboard featuring supermodel Eva Herzigova has been named the "most iconic advert image of all time," My Daily UK writes. The Outdoor Media Centre polled tens of thousands of Britons and the majority dubbed the campaign the best of the best.

Sure, sure, this is just another British survey, but don't kid your American self -- Eva's ad certainly made the rounds in the U.S., helped the Czech beauty gain instant fame...and arguably made the roads more dangerous. In fact, MSNBC.com put up an article a few years back on why it might not be the best idea to post oversized images of scantily-clad models right where men operating vehicles can see them, citing the 1994 promotion. An excerpt:

A recent study found that the billboard ads do indeed distract drivers. One ad in particular was the Wonderbra ad featuring Eva Herzigova.

Research released this week said one in five male drivers said their eyes were diverted from the road by posters of scantily clad women -- such as model Eva Herzigova's famous adverts for Wonderbra which bore the tagline "Hello Boys."

However only one in 10 women were put off by the sight of a semi-dressed male model.

Well, that's because we're too busy gabbing on the phone and painting our nails behind the wheel to look up. Obviously.

What do you think? Is the "Hello Boys" ad the most iconic billboard ever? (We're defining "iconic" as anything from "unparalleled" to "likely to cause a three-to-five-car pile-up.") Or is this another British "study" that just doesn't translate?
