Canada hit by WikiLeaks as former CSIS head comments revealed

The former head of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, James Judd,  characterized the Canadian views of global terrorism as an "Alice in Wonderland" perspective, according to WikiLeaks.

Judd said this in a 2008 document recently released through the website in relation to his belief that the Canadian courts were paralyzing his agency's anti-terrorism measures.

The comment came in a secret American diplomatic cable included in the thousands of documents released by WikiLeaks.

Hilary Clinton, the Secretary of State, reminded American allies that U.S. foreign policy is formulated in Washington, not by diplomatic cables.

Canada's former Iranian ambassador, Ken Taylor told 680News, although security measures are taken, there are limitations.

"Good policy is the result of good intelligence. Embassies and the Capitals are very careful as to what they do transmit. The modern day telecommunications we can influence, but obviously we can't control." said Taylor.

Canadian and American diplomats, and government officials are working on damage control as more confidential emails and communications are released by WikiLeaks.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange told Forbes magazine that his next move is to reveal thousands of internal documents from a big U.S. bank, but he would not reveal which ones.
