the level of trade going on at that time was huge..  btw.. Virolahti is very close to the ancestral home of the Boxtrom (?) or Bock family, and also near Sibbo mountain where the excavation described at www.bocksaga.de is...

I don't know enough details, so i hope that Boreas will chip in here..

I see on a map of Karelia that to the east is Wiipuri/Wiborg... (puri/buri/bury meaning a ritual center) and to the west, Hel/Helsingfors/Helsinki, the center of the Aser world..
