There is Only One Tom Waits and this is His Latest 2 CD Set, Live Concert Tour. Released on November 23, 2009. "Glitter and Doom" -- 17 Songs
By Tom Waits
BuzzFlash.com's Review (excerpt)
A brand-new 2 CD live collection of Tom Waits from a recent concert tour.

First off, you either love Tom Waits or you hear him for the first time and say, "Who wants to listen to a cat in heat wailing on about hard luck tales with wild imagery?"

We love him.

Forget the crusty, cigarette crackling, bourbon soaked voice. Or maybe don't forget it, because that is so much a part of Waits.

But Tom Waits is for those who are willing to get into a totally artistic mindset. If you like him, you think, "I don't know what planet he came from, but I want to stay awhile, cause it sure is intoxicating."

Waits is definitely part street musician, part poet, part hardluck blues man, part jazz riffer, part mad man.

You've got to listen to him and let him take you where he's going, because otherwise you're just an outsider looking in.

Description of "Glimmer and Doom":

In 2008, Tom Waits launched a sold out national tour, garnering intense critical praise Paste magazine called it the best live show of 2008 and thrilling fans across the country and the world, some in cities where Waits had never played before. Now comes the document of those concerts, 17
performances hand picked by Waits from along the tour. Leaning heavily on songs from his ANTI releases including a haunting Trampled Rose from Real Gone and roaring Get Behind the Mule from Mule Variations Waits also digs into the vaults for tracks like a reimagined Singapore from 1985. Glitter and Doom Live will reside in the Waits catalog alongside earlier live albums like Nighthawks at the Diner and Big Time, both discs held on par with his classic
studio releases by fans.
