Iron Jesus, and other religious signs

Mary Jo Coady of Methuen claims that residue on her iron is in the image of Jesus Christ. Coady said the appearance reassured her that "life is going to be good."

Coady is hardly the first person to spot Christian imagery in an unusual place. Scroll through this gallery for some other recent sightings.

In Jonesborough, Tenn., Jim Stevens stood next to his truck, which has an image on the window that he claims is Jesus. Stevens says the image appears each morning. Stevens, who says he's not particularly religious, says his has no idea why the image keeps appearing

Last year, a patient at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield reported seeing a window bearing the likeness of the Virgin Mary (left).

Veronica Dennis stood next to a fire-damaged portion of her home in Mexico, Maine, which in 2006 some said bore a likeness to the Virgin Mary.

The Springfield window isn't the only one in recent Massachusetts history. At left, a glass pane at the Milton Hospital drew onlookers in 2003.

In 2001, a stain that some said resembled the Virgin Mary appeared during Big Dig construction (lower right).

Anna Stofova placed her hands on a window in Perth Amboy, N.J., that attracted hundreds of people in 2000.
