"The hunter-gatherers who inhabited Scandinavia more than 4,000 years ago had a different gene pool than ours," explains Anders Götherström of the Department of Evolutionary Biology at Uppsala University, who headed the project together with Eske Willerslev of the Centre for GeoGenetics at the University of Copenhagen.

Unfortunately the test-team forgt to check their premisses. Of the 9 tissues analyzed 6 came from a cementary-field on the Swedish west-coast, towards the Atlantic (close to Gothenborgh) - while the other 3 tissues were from the Baltic Sea (Gotland) - where a sligthly older grave have been found. This one was supposed to be 4.500 yrs old "hunterers" (= archaic stone age) while the Gothenborough-field is defined as 4.000 yrs old "agriculturalists" (= younger stoneage).

The problem is that agriculture came to Sweden 6.000 yrs ago...!

The difference in mtDNAfrom the two groups show that these old Gothenburgers have common features  the present Swedes and Danes, while the neolithic Gotlanders have specific features in common with the Finns, Estonians and Lituanians. And thats about ALL this test proves - according to leading Swedish experts in the field. Roll Eyes

Sorry to say....
