Let's Get Free: A Hip-Hop Theory of Justice (Hardcover): It's Time to Reform Our Criminal System of Criminal Sentencing
Paul Butler

BuzzFlash.com's Review (excerpt)
Are We Corrupting the People Who Run the Criminal Justice System By Perpetuating an Industry of Injustice?

"Butler's provocative proposals include jury nullification--voting "not guilty" in certain non-violent cases as a form of protest, just saying "no" when the police request your permission to search, and refusing to work inside the criminal justice system. And his groundbreaking "hip-hop theory of justice" reveals an important analysis of crime and punishment found in pop culture.

Chock full of great stories and cutting-edge analysis, this accessible and lively critique will change the way you think about crime and punishment in the United States. As Butler eloquently argues, when we end mass incarceration and excessive police power, everyone wins. Let's Get Free offers a powerful new vision of justice."

The guilty of Wall Street get bonuses and lavish vacations; a three-time check bouncer for steak at the supermarket gets life in prison. A wealthy user of **** gets probation and expungement; a poor user of crack gets 10 years in jail.

There's something terribly unjust and inequitable about our "justice" system.

Paul Butler reveals the crimes behind our criminal justice machine.

It's a business.

The CIA ships in the drugs for the sake of the Prison Industry Complex.

They want to fight the system, run for local office and get the word out that it is all baiting for the Prison Industry Complex.
