Robert, that shows how little you've read the Bible. There is no verse in the Bible that ever advocated child sacrifice or murder, in fact, we have a commandment, "thou shall not kill." As for the rest of the verses in the Old Testament that concern themselves with wives an infidelity, well, you have to consider the context of the times. The New Testament says no such thing.

The Bible was a response to the rampant hedonism and barbaric child sacrifice at the times. Mankind is NOT basically good. If it were, there would have been no need for religion in the first place.
