Haas strongly suggests that we begin asking questions, “The fact that the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Osama bin Laden to 9/11 should be headline news around the world. The challenge to the reader is to find out why it is not. Why has the US media blindly read the government-provided 9/11 scripts, rather than investigate without passion, prejudice, or bias, the events of September 11, 2001? Why has the US media blacklisted any guest that might speak of a government-sponsored 9/11 cover-up, rather than seeking out those people who have something to say about 9/11 that is contrary to the government’s account?” Haas continues. “Who is controlling the media message, and how is it that the FBI has no ‘hard evidence’ connecting Osama bin Laden to the events of September 11, 2001, while the US media has played the bin Laden-9/11 connection story for [six] years now as if it has conclusive evidence that bin Laden is responsible for the collapse of the twin towers, the Pentagon attack, and the demise of United Flight 93?”

UPDATE BY ED HAAS
On June 6, 2006 the Muckraker Report ran a piece by Ed Haas titled “FBI says, ‘No hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11.’” Haas is the editor and a writer for the Muckraker Report. At the center of this article remains the authenticity and truthfulness of the videotape released by the federal government on December 13, 2001 in which it is reported that Osama bin Laden “confesses” to the September 11, 2001 attacks. The corporate media—television, radio, and newspapers—across the United States and the world repeated, virtually non-stop for a week after the videotape’s release, the government account of OBL “confessing.”

However, not one document has been released that demonstrates the authenticity of the videotape or that it even went through an authentication process. The Muckraker Report has submitted Freedom of Information Act requests to the FBI, CIA, Department of Defense, and CENTCOM requesting documentation that would demonstrate the authenticity of the videotape and the dates/circumstances in which the videotape was discovered. CENTCOM has yet to reply to the FOIA request. After losing an appeal, the FBI responded that no documents could be found responsive to the request. The Department of Defense referred the Muckraker Report to CENTCOM while also indicating that it had no documents responsive to the FOIA request either.

The CIA however claims that it can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of records responsive to the request. According to the CIA the fact of the existence or nonexistence of requested records is properly classified and is intelligence sources and methods information that is protected from disclosure by section 6 of the CIA Act of 1949, as amended. Therefore, the Agency has denied your request pursuant to FOIA exemptions (b)(1) and (b)(3).

Many people believe that if the videotape is authentic, it should be sufficient hard evidence for the FBI to connect bin Laden to 9/11. The Muckraker Report agrees. However, for the Department of Justice to indict bin Laden for the 9/11 attacks, something the government has yet to do, the videotape would have to be entered into evidence and subjected to additional scrutiny. This appears to be something the government wishes to avoid.

Some believe that the video is a fake. They refer to it as the “fat bin Laden”video. The Muckraker Report believes that while the videotape is indeed authentic, it was the result of an elaborate CIA sting operation. The Muckraker Report also believes that the reason why there is no documentation that demonstrates that the videotape went through an authenticity process is because the CIA knew it was authentic, they arranged the taping.

It is highly probable that the videotape was taped on September 26, 2001—before the US invaded Afghanistan.

From The Frontier Post news of Peshawar and Quetta (see how we are winning hearts and minds, the whole world knows)...

9/11 ringleaders in Pakistan?
http://www.thefrontierpost.com/News.aspx?ncat=ar&nid=470
Yousaf Alamgirian

Madam Hillary Rodham Clinton who happens to be the US Secretary of State these days, has very kindly announced during her recent visit to India that US officials firmly believe that al-Qaeda leaders who planned and carried out the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, are hiding in Pakistan near its border with Afghanistan. She shared this precious information with the world during her press conference in India. While disclosing the location of the ringleaders she said: “With respect to the location of those who were part of the planning and execution of the attack of 9/11 against our country, we firmly believe that a significant number of them are in the border area of Pakistan. Pakistani government has many a time categorically denied that no al-Qaeda ringleader including Osama bin Laden are hiding on its territory but it seems US officials have set their mind frame regarding their presence in Pakistani soil. Americans are not even interested to think beyond it.

They have thrown numerous drones inside Pakistani border but none have succeeded in hitting even Baitullah Mehsood and what to talk of hitting Osama bin laden whose exact location is yet to be established by Americans. For searching one person and few of his team members they have killed hundreds of innocent human beings in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Whereas the operation being undertaken by Pakistan Army against terrorists is targeted, meticulous and avoids collateral damage. Pakistan army is aware of the terrain and the techniques to handle the terrorists who have swiftly been eradicated form this soil. May be Americans know about Osama very well but still they want to continue their search for him in order to justify their presence in Afghanistan and the drone attacks in Pakistan.

Despite presence of American and NATO troops in Afghanistan and especially along with the Pak-Afghan border still they believe Osama bin laden and his core team has fled into Pakistan. Hillary Clinton also disclosed that they, the Americans, are actively looking for additional information that would lead them to Osama. God knows how many innocent lives have yet to be taken till the search is completed and they get hold of the 9/11 ringleaders. Killing innocent people of one region to secure the masses of other region is a unique phenomenon. Unfortunately America has always shown double standards and has failed to maintain justice and equity among the nations. If at one side US is considered to be a role model in protecting human rights yet on the other hand America is the one who crossed all limits to violate human rights in Iraq and Afghanistan. They invaded Iraq, destroyed its government, system, independence and every thing.

They even hanged Saddam Husain but never found any of chemical atomic weapons. Only chemical which Americans found from Iraq was Chemical Ali, the first cousin of Saddam. The same theory has been repeated in Afghanistan in vague of getting hold of Osama bin Laden. May be they have already killed him or it is yet to ascertain the den where those ringleaders are hiding. Osama bin laden was said to be the chronic patient who couldn’t survive without proper medical treatment. It is amazing how an old man can play a long series of hide and seek with professional American and NATO forces. Hillary also stated that Pakistan must dismantle terrorists infrastructure on its soil. Hillary’s statement is really a hilarious one as Pakistan for the last nine years is not playing ping pong with the terrorists.

Pakistan army is at proper war to eliminate terrorists from this soil. The valiant soldiers of Pakistan Army are injecting their fresh blood in war against terrorism and have written a golden history of valour, courage and sacrifices in defence of the motherland. Some how or the other America and its scapegoat Karzai-led Afghan government is very fond of involving Pakistan in each and every incident happening inside Afghanistan. Now the fresh allegation is pertaining to a US soldier being kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan. An American based news channel while doing an objective reporting has disclosed that Taliban may have taken the soldiers across the border to Pakistan. Its a matchless example of biased reporting by foreign media to malign Pakistan. If so ever it has happened, what for American and NATO forces are sitting along with Pak-Afghan border.

It highly speaks of inefficiency at the part of those forces. Up till now they should have obtained enough experience to fight against terrorism. To conceal their incapability they keep on blaming Pakistan for the acts Pakistan cannot even think about. Afghan national army is also not far behind in blaming Pakistan for supporting terrorism in order to hide their non-professional and ineffectiveness in fighting war on terror. A complete platoon of Afghan National Army had been searching the area but failed to get any clue of the missing soldier. So they abruptly changed their mind disclosing the soldier might have been moved to Pakistan.

May be its a planned effort to malign Pakistan and looking for an opportunity to chase him inside Pakistan’s territory which Pakistan will never permit them. The forces which are facing a complete failure in Afghanistan territory how can be successful in the terrain being more tough, complicated and unfamiliar to them. Pakistan is one of the most important allies of US in war against terrorism and has proved its worth by fighting terrorists ruthlessly. Till now the world, including America, should have recognised Pakistan’s sincere efforts instead of involving it in each and every affair.

They have failed to search Osama and his team so they thought they should be here inside, Pakistan. And now they have failed to search their soldier so he is also believed to be inside Pakistan. One should accept its failures instead of maligning others. A famous TV artist and an English Professor late Dildar Pervez Bhatti once said my wife used to blame me for the things for which I don’t even feel myself fit enough. So Americans while blaming Pakistan should at least see its capability to do the same. yousafalamgirian@gmail.com
