Awsome picture, Qoais! Is that water I see around the pyramid? In 1851? Did the Nile flood the Giza plateau that late? All the old Edfu texts always speak of the original "Island of the Egg", which is Giza, being surrounded by water at all times. The Rostau was really described more or less as a inland lake, and the part that the pyramid sits on was the island.

Here's a thought.  What if the pyramid is actually a representation of a flying craft?  This Octahedron idea may be brilliant!!!!!

MAYBE it isn't supposed to have a top.

Just the template is from the 1800's.  Supposedly, this is how it looked in Herodotus's time.

Lake Moeris
When the Mediterranean Sea was a hot dry hollow near the end of the Messinian Salinity Crisis in the late Miocene, Faiyum was a dry hollow, and the Nile flowed past it at the bottom of a canyon 8000 feet deep or more (where Cairo is located today). After the Mediterranean reflooded at the end of the Miocene, the Nile canyon became an arm of the sea reaching inland further than Aswan. Over geological time that sea arm gradually filled with silt and became the Nile valley.

Eventually the Nile valley bed silted up high enough to let the Nile in flood overflow into the Faiyum hollow and make a lake in it. The lake is first recorded from about 3000 BC, around the time of Menes (Narmer). However, for the most part it would only be filled with high flood waters. The lake was bordered by neolithic settlements, and the town of Crocodilopolis grew up on the south where the higher ground created a ridge.

In 2300 BC, the waterway from the Nile to the natural lake was widened and deepened to make a canal which is now known as the Bahr Yussef. This canal fed into the lake. This was meant to serve three purposes: control the flooding of the Nile, regulate the water level of the Nile during dry seasons, and serve the surrounding area with irrigation. There is evidence of ancient Egyptian pharaohs of the twelfth dynasty using the natural lake of Faiyum as a reservoir to store surpluses of water for use during the dry periods. The immense waterworks undertaken by the ancient Egyptian pharaohs of the twelfth dynasty to transform the lake into a huge water reservoir gave the impression that the lake itself was an artificial excavation, as reported by classic geographers and travellers

Ohhhh - someone always beats me to these conclusions!!!!

According to Herodotus obelisks were related to the sun- symbolizing the suns rays.  The Ben Ben capped the obelisk.

Compare the rocket to the Ben Ben stone:

Qoais, almost every picture I've seen of a Ben-Ben showed a man sitting inside of them looking like he was sitting at some sort of instrument panel. Also, some of the drawings that were made from the writen "how to" instructions in the Vimana texts show flying machines that are very pyramidal in their shape. Many people think that the flat topped ziggurats of Sumer were also built to be landing platforms.

I think so too!  That platform at Baalbeck is a humdinger.

You dont have to be a member to view the magazine Covers back issues. Membership is required if one wants to read the Complete Text of each article. *Here it is again: www.sciencemag.org   *you are on the HOME page *click on PREVIOUS ISSUES in the center near the top. *now scroll down abit and youll see the list of Years. *click on 2006 Nov.24  Vol. 314 * Youll see a series of thumbnail images of Covers *keep clicking on the ALPHA image til it enlarges [2 -3 times].       *DDn***

*** I made a color printout of ASTEROID ALPHA today. . . sealed it in plastic and tacked it to the wall. It really is an awesome image! I cant stop looking at it . . . its mesmerizing! I want to make a wall size poster of it. Id love to see this Thing towed back to Earth and land it in the desert! Perhaps within viewing distance of the Great Pyramid. What a sight that would be almost a mile high! I wonder if it would be possible with todays technology? Great science fiction anyways!       **DnD**

Essentially, an octohedron formed by placing quartz and gold at the six points.  The sixth buried at an equal distance below ground as the top is above.

Ok 3D - I didn't realize I could scroll down to find the right one - I kept typing in key words to try to find it.

A radar-derived model of Alpha, the larger half of the binary near-Earth asteroid (66391) 1999 KW4. Alpha is an unconsolidated aggregate 1.5 kilometers in diameter; its effective slope ranges from zero (blue) to 70° (red). Its rapid 2.8-hour rotation induces material to flow (arrowheads) from both the northern and southern hemispheres toward the equator.

Like I said, if that was true, it would be flat as a pancake by now!

Hi Rocky
Maybe that's what Hawass has found down under the pyramid and that's why they're putting up that fence.  Maybe they've figured out how toget the pryamid working again.

Cheesy   Now this is the stuff I love to talk about!

Quote from KTCat:

Quote
So, if you put a sharp metal point or even a pyramid on at the apex of a pyramid, theoretically it would keep the structure from holding a static field.

The top of the pyramid had a crystal capstone, according to legend.  Crystals of course have piezoelectric properties.  They have also been used in “crystal” radios.  Perhaps this is where your “mind control” comes in.  Crystal radios?  Broadcasting?  Static Charges?  This is all stuff our science actually does not “get” yet.

Quote from Qoais:

Quote
read SOMEWHERE that originally, there WAS a copper cap on it.  Do I remember where?  No.  But this would explain why it isn't working properly anymore, plus the fact that the gems were taken away.  Mind you, the gems may have been a device used as a result of the collected power.  The pyramid itself would be a collector, the kings chamber acting like a giant ark of the covenant, as capacitor, and the crystals and gems being the "devices" that would use the power for different things.

SOMEWHERE? LOL, boy can I relate!  We’ve moved a lot, and my wife labels dozens of boxes, “Michael’s Weird Books”.   But I think here, the crystal capstone makes more sense to me than a copper one.  If the capstone were a precious gemstone or enormous size to be a capstone, than that would explain why it’s missing now.  Just like the white limestone was removed to make the streets and buildings of Cairo, the gemstone would have been carved up for jewelry.  And I definitely agree that the power was collected in the Kings Chamber.  I don’t think the sarcophagus ever had a lid.  I think it was meant for a person to lie down in, to be reborn in the “temple of initiation” that Cayce speaks about in his readings.   Also lets not forget the Mason’s cryptic symbol on our dollar bill.  The all seeing eye.

As I’ve posted earlier the crystal capstone supposedly shone with a great brilliance, and in the center of this you could see a sort of eye.  I sort of suspect this was like a plasma globe, which sort of reminds one of an eye.

Quote from Rockessence:

Quote
“I think the GP is actually the visible top of an octohedron.”

I couldn’t agree more.  I’ve been playing around with this same thought for a while.

Quote from KTCat:

Quote
“Whatever SRI is doing at Giza, it's really not very likely that Hiwass would be part of that inside circle.”

Isn’t it obvious what they’re up to.  Hiwass has found tunnels going down.  Cayce predicted that the hidden chamber would be found around the turn of the millennium.  Sonar soundings have already discovered an underground cavern, (although it shows it is now filled with water and mud due to the raising of the water table from the construction of the dam).  They’re too stupid to figure out how to use the tunnels, so what are they doing?  They’re digging through hundreds of feet of solid rock. Why?  They think they’re going to find advanced technology left by a alien race that taught the Egyptians how to build the pyramid, advanced technology with military applications. In my opinion, they’re in for disappointment and surprise, and all of us “Atlantis” enthusiasts will be getting the vindication we’re been waiting for! Cool

The tunnels have water in them that constantly refills perhaps.... imagine spelunking THERE!  Where's Lara Croft?

I remember seeing a depiction of the "Grand Gallery" from Gordon Michael Scallion years ago with a enormous crystal which could be adjusted up or down the slope....
