Chichen Itza

Designated as one of the New 7 Wonders in 2007, Chichen Itza is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site built by the Mayan civilization and used to be the capital of the Mayan empire. Built in 600 A.D., Chichen Itza served as the political and economic center of the Mayan civilization. The ancient city is remarkably well preserved, and even though it is no longer possible to climb the main pyramid (Castillo) anymore, you can visit numerous buildings on the site, like the Temple of Warriors, the Great Ball Court the Observatory Temple and many more!

Tulum

The archaeological site of Tulum is one of the most beautiful places on the Riviera Maya. Raised on the top of a cliff, Tulum is one of the most popular excursions for tourists visiting Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Over sixty well-preserved structures can be observed within three massive walls which surround the site. It is, in fact, the only Mayan city fortified this way. The ruins may be a little less impressive than the ones in Chichen Itza or Coba, but the overwhelming landscape surrounding it is highly unusual and certainly worth the trip!

Xel-Ha

Known as the world’s largest “natural aquarium”, the site of Xel-Há provides access to exotic lagoons, bays and creeks naturally carved out of the fragile local limestone; a snorkelling paradise! Surrounded by thick jungle, caves, cenotes, and even a couple of small archaeological sites, this stunning creation of nature plays a major role in the protection of fauna and flora typical to the region. You will also find a Dolphinarium where you can swim with dolphins, a nice aviary and even a turtle camp!

Xcaret

Located near Playa Del Carmen, Xcaret is the most visited eco park of Mexico. This is a place where you won’t get bored, no matter what your interests are! Archaeology, sailing, diving, horseback riding, museum and aquarium are just some of the attractions you can find. You can also sail on an underground river, which will carry you for 1km through the depths of the earth, and where you can explore caves and view marine fossils. An unforgettable experience!

Coba

Coba is an unusual archaeological site within the land, 44km from Tulum. It is in fact the remains of an ancient Mayan city, buried in the tropical jungles and lush vegetation. Under a hot sun, you can admire the ancient temples and take a long walk on the thousand-year-old stone and plaster roads, a must to get in touch with the ancient Mayan civilization. The main attraction of this site is Nohoch Mul, the highest Mayan pyramid of the Yucatan peninsula. You can also visit a small Mayan village nearby and meet the inhabitants who will show you how they make chewing gum from tree resin.

Akumal

Akumal means "place of the turtles" in the Mayan language. Indeed, Akumal is known as the place where thousands of turtles come to breed on the beach every year. Its exceptional beaches lined with palm trees and surrounded by coral reefs are a must-see for divers. It is also dotted with small towns, seaside getaways and luxury resorts.
