  Funny how a good joke can suddenly become a mere classic!   

The Norwegians have an old saying about that kind of thing that goes "... troll i ord".
Literally that translates to; "... troll in word".

The word "troll" is - by now - quite well known in the English world, as well as in Norway - where they appeared in the old folklore. Here they are described to understand the mysteries of life in their own way, which in itself makes them a bit mysterious. In Swedish the word "trolla" (verb) and the Danish/Norwegian version "trylle" both means; "doing magic. 

Otherwise they are known as ancient giants that lived in hiding - inside the greatest mountains of the kingdom. And - as any Norwegian kid still gets to know - "There they watch over endless treasures..."
That is until the princess and her prince-in-hiding arrives, leaving a small little hole in the roof...

Yet its funny how the archetype of the troll are still remembered and memorized - as we keep the basic outline of those ol', big-nosed rollers - remembering an archetype that once played an essential role in the old culture of Scandinavia.
