2. THE CODED STONE MAP

In 1985, the authors with a group of amateur fossil collectors discovered a stone slab with geometrical lines on its upper surface along the slopes of Zambales Mountains , a range thrust upwards due to the subduction of Asian Plate into the Manila Trench. It was first thought that the lines are of a fossilized insect but when it was brought to the National Museum in Manila for identification, it was known that the stone was made of basalt- a hard, dense, dark volcanic material usually composed of augite, plagioclase and magnetite. This type of material is not easily weathered thru the passing of time.

For 3 successive years, the authors consulted geologists, seismologists and archaeologists to ask their opinion regarding the possible interpretation of the geometrical lines on the overlying surface of the stone slab. A geologist from National Museum based in Manila gave an opinion that the lines are “veins”, a regularly and lengthy occurrence of an ore or lode. Another researcher of the same institution insists that the lines were natural formations due to the exposure of the stone to different weather conditions in the past. These ideas does not conform to the theory put forth by the authors because they believe the following:

•  The discovered stone slab is indeed a map showing topographical features.

•  The embossed lines on the upper surface of the stone represents the “force” that reshapes the surface of the earth and creating geological stresses around the entire planet.

The stone map shows different geographical features of the world including the location of the legendary lost island of Atlantis .
