Hey Zep

well basically, a combination of evidence like the statue of Khafre found in his Valley Temple ,the small statue of Menkaure found in his Valley temple , the cartouche that has part of Khufu's name in the chambers above the Kings Chamber in the Great Pyramid , the various kinglists that put these kings in there familiar order, the references made by Herodotus who was informed by the Egyptians of his time .

Radio carbon dates too I guess ,but I am very wary of that method so I wouldnt consider that strong evidence.

Thats a lot of it I think .

There is no doubt that at the very least ,the 4th Dynasty is closely associated with the 'Plateau'

Some who believe in the complex being built around 10000 years ago or more and who quite rightly ,cannot ignore the evidence ,have suggested that the 4th Dynasty kings merely undertook a renovation or restoration of the site.. I doubt it ,but I guess that may be worth considering.
