Clay Bowl, pigmented, 1200–900 BCE, from the Tlapacoya archaeological site in the Valley of Mexico. Despite being found several hundred kilometers/miles from the Olmec heartland, this bowl shows Olmec influences, particularly in the downturned mouth and almond eye.
