The current issue of Atlantis Rising has a lot of info about the return of the principle of ether in physics.

Where would any of us be without alternating current? It makes the structure of our technological society viable.

EVANGELICAL SCIENTISTS REFUTE GRAVITY WITH NEW 'INTELLIGENT FALLING' THEORY

KANSAS CITY, KS—As the debate over the teaching of evolution in public schools continues, a new controversy over the science curriculum arose Monday in this embattled Midwestern state. Scientists from the Evangelical Center For Faith-Based Reasoning are now asserting that the long-held "theory of gravity" is flawed, and they have responded to it with a new theory of Intelligent Falling.

Above: Rev. Gabriel Burdett (left) explains Intelligent Falling.
"Things fall not because they are acted upon by some gravitational force, but because a higher intelligence, 'God' if you will, is pushing them down," said Gabriel Burdett, who holds degrees in education, applied Scripture, and physics from Oral Roberts University.

Burdett added: "Gravity—which is taught to our children as a law—is founded on great gaps in understanding. The laws predict the mutual force between all bodies of mass, but they cannot explain that force. Isaac Newton himself said, 'I suspect that my theories may all depend upon a force for which philosophers have searched all of nature in vain.' Of course, he is alluding to a higher power."

Founded in 1987, the ECFR is the world's leading institution of evangelical physics, a branch of physics based on literal interpretation of the Bible.

According to the ECFR paper published simultaneously this week in the International Journal Of Science and the adolescent magazine God's Word For Teens!, there are many phenomena that cannot be explained by secular gravity alone, including such mysteries as how angels fly, how Jesus ascended into Heaven, and how Satan fell when cast out of Paradise.

The ECFR, in conjunction with the Christian Coalition and other Christian conservative action groups, is calling for public-school curriculums to give equal time to the Intelligent Falling theory. They insist they are not asking that the theory of gravity be banned from schools, but only that students be offered both sides of the issue "so they can make an informed decision."

"We just want the best possible education for Kansas' kids," Burdett said.

Proponents of Intelligent Falling assert that the different theories used by secular physicists to explain gravity are not internally consistent. Even critics of Intelligent Falling admit that Einstein's ideas about gravity are mathematically irreconcilable with quantum mechanics. This fact, Intelligent Falling proponents say, proves that gravity is a theory in crisis.

"Let's take a look at the evidence," said ECFR senior fellow Gregory Lunsden."In Matthew 15:14, Jesus says, 'And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.' He says nothing about some gravity making them fall—just that they will fall. Then, in Job 5:7, we read, 'But mankind is born to trouble, as surely as sparks fly upwards.' If gravity is pulling everything down, why do the sparks fly upwards with great surety? This clearly indicates that a conscious intelligence governs all falling."

Critics of Intelligent Falling point out that gravity is a provable law based on empirical observations of natural phenomena. Evangelical physicists, however, insist that there is no conflict between Newton's mathematics and Holy Scripture.

"Closed-minded gravitists cannot find a way to make Einstein's general relativity match up with the subatomic quantum world," said Dr. Ellen Carson, a leading Intelligent Falling expert known for her work with the Kansan Youth Ministry. "They've been trying to do it for the better part of a century now, and despite all their empirical observation and carefully compiled data, they still don't know how."

"Traditional scientists admit that they cannot explain how gravitation is supposed to work," Carson said. "What the gravity-agenda scientists need to realize is that 'gravity waves' and 'gravitons' are just secular words for 'God can do whatever He wants.'"

Some evangelical physicists propose that Intelligent Falling provides an elegant solution to the central problem of modern physics.

"Anti-falling physicists have been theorizing for decades about the 'electromagnetic force,' the 'weak nuclear force,' the 'strong nuclear force,' and so-called 'force of gravity,'" Burdett said. "And they tilt their findings toward trying to unite them into one force. But readers of the Bible have already known for millennia what this one, unified force is: His name is Jesus."

Don't know who said that, but it perfectly reflects my sentiments in this case.

God in All Worlds
Lucinda Vardey

The cosmic evolutionary process has a direction, an arrow of time. This arrow utlimately depends on the expansive impulse inherent in the cosmos since its birth. But because the growth of the universe has been accompanied by the development of feilds, particles, atoms, galaxies, stars, planets, molecules, crystals, and biological life, the arrow of time has a cumulative developmental quality as well. Just as an embryo passes through a series of stages, each of which forms the foundation for the next, so does the evolutionary cosmos. There could be no biological life until there were planets, no planets until there were galaxies and stars, no galaxies and stars until there were atoms of matter, and no atoms of matter until their constituent particles had first come into being.

According to the hypothesis of formative causation, each new pattern of organization involves the appearance of new knid of morphic feild. Through repetion, these new patterns of organization become increasingly habitual. Because of this habit-memory inherent in nature, the evolutionary process is cumulative; new patterns of organization come into being in the context of the existing habits of nature and through repetion and in turn become habitual.

But if evolutionary creativity--the appearance of new patterns of organization--involves the coming into being of new kinds of morphic feilds, where do these feilds come from? Hence we come back to the mystery of creativity, and as so often happens there are three kinds of theory.

According to the first theory, all creativity emerges from the mother princile: it is inherent in nature, and emerges from blind, unconscious processes such as the workings of chance. It wells up from material activies. New patterns of organization, new morphic feilds, spring into being spontaneously.

The second theory proposed that all creativity comes from the father principle. It descends into the physical world of space and time from a "higher," transcendant level that is mindlike. In the platonic tradition, this eternal intelligence is the source and abode of ideas reflected in the world of nature; for Christian Platonists it is none other than the mind of God. For Pythagoreans, this transcendent mindlike realm is mathematical.

From mathematical principles; everything is governed. Insofar as new kinds of feilds come into being, they are governed by feild equations that exist eternally in the transcendent mathematical reality, irrespective of wether they are reified in the physical world or not. Evolutionary creativity involves the manifestation in physical form of mathematical structures that have always existed, or rather that they are beyond time all together.

Third, there is the theory that all creativity comes from an interplay between the mother and the father principle, or more abstractly from below and above. It depends on chance, conflict, and neccessity, the mother of invention. It arises in particular enivironments, at particular places and times; it is rooted in the ongoing process of nature. But at the same time it occurs within the framework of higher systems of order. For example, new species arise within ecosystems; new eco-systems within g Gaia; Gaia within solar systems; the solar system within the galaxy; the galaxy within the growing cosmos.

At every level of organization, there ia a higher level that includes it, right up to the level of cosmos. Many theoretical physicists now think that the fundamental feilds of physics arose from a higher and more inclusive feild, the primal unified theory feild of the universe; in the same way, at every level of organization, new morphic feilds may arise within and from higher level feilds.
later
As with all polarities and dualities, when we try to concieve of how they are unified or held together, sooner or later we arrive at the idea that they are aspects of a higher unity. And indeed, according to the big bang theory, feilds and energy arose together within the original cosmic singularity.

All physical phenomenon--such as sunlight, molecules, trees, and stars--have both a feild aspect and an energy aspect. The wave and particle aspects of light, for example, are not two seperate things but two aspects of the same structure of activity. So are the field and energy aspects of everything else, including ourselves.

A view of nature without God must account not only for the many kinds of polarity inherent in the world and our experience but also for the higher form of unity that includes these poles. Indeed, since the universe is a unity by definition, there must be a unitary principle that includes all nature. What is the nature of this unity? It is not enough to concieve of it as static, for the universe is evolving. Somehow the underlying unity of nature has to give rise spontaneously to new kinds of organisms and new patterns of behavior, which are themselves unities, wholes, or holons.

Thus a view of nature without God must include a creative unitary principle that includes the entire cosmos and unites polarities and dualities found throughout the natural realm. But this is not far removed from views of nature with god

Science and religion have always been at odds with one another. No doubt there are some people here who, if they had their way, would still be able to burn people at the stake.

In Philosophy Religion and Science

By Dan Moore

In ancient times, the institutions and schools of thought that we know as philosophy, religion and science were one complete whole and not seperate entities as they now are. Imagine visiting a university of a large city in ancient Eygpt. To our suprise, the complex of buildings, which is the campus, is also a group of temples of worship. Competent healers who practice the art of medicine share the place of religious sanctuary. Here also is the astronomical observatory where the movements of the sacred planets are recorded and the calendar calculated. The arts are taught and performed here as well. In this place is the center of philosophical contemplation where the nature and origin of the universe is studied, codes of ethics are formulated and the structure and rules of government are discussed.

later...
Religion lost philosophy and science. Along with these it also lost its purpose and effectiveness to bind man together with nature. Philosophy divested of religion and science gives rise to pessimism and cynicism and causes one to doubt the very existence of his own being. Science without philosophy or religion attempts to explain the universe in cold, mechanical terms devoid of any wonderment or awe of the miracles of nature. Such unbalanced science blindly probes into any field of research without giving any consideration to ethical questions or the potential for danger to the environment and mankind. The fragmentation of philosophy, religion and science into seperate parts causes a sort of schizophreia to take place in the human psyche. This gives rise to all sorts of cultural and sociological problems which were not prevalent in ancient civilizations.
