Nope!  Grin Cause there isn’t any energy amplification system or rather there is no energy generating system.   All that a solar panel is a transformer i.e. they convert light into electrical energy e.g. scavenging or transforming one type of energy into another form, that’s it…

True energy generation only occurs between specific types of chain reactions e.g. Radial Axial Phasing (Implosion) regardless of energy type e.g. water, air, magnetism etc…

Here's one for ya TSM.....  Smiley
Junior Gaurav Tewari and sophomore John McBean walked away with $250 each in prize money yesterday afternoon from the Concourse program's annual Perpetual Motion contest.

For the second time, the Concourse program offered a $500 award to the best submission by an MIT undergraduate for a perpetual motion machine that incorporates electrical or magnetic fields. Students had to submit a written proposal written clearly enough to be understood by first-year MIT students.

Mr. Tewari, an electrical engineering and computer science major, and Mr. McBean, a mechanical engineering major, designed a machine that involves a magnetically levitated, flat rectangular bar rotating in a vacuum-sealed glass container.

A post on the bottom of the glass chamber protrudes through a hole in the center of the bar and keeps it positioned correctly. The bar will stay suspended and rotating in a horizontal plane because of the interacting forces of two magnets at its ends and four magnets attached to the walls of the chamber, all with the same pole facing inside. Also, a magnet at the base of the glass chamber repels the magnetic underside of the rotating bar and helps it levitate.

While the two say that their design does not rely on complete elimination of friction (the near-impossible necessity for a true perpetual motion machine), they believe their idea of setting an object in motion in a nearly friction-free environment should "guarantee zero dissipation of energy" and therefore perpetual motion.

Concourse is a special unified program for first-year students that covers the entire core curriculum, offering the advantages of a small school without giving up the character and resources of MIT.

The contest submissions were judged by students and faculty, who rated each proposal according to their inability to refute it.

"Use of black holes, spatial singu-larities or magnetic monopoles are expressly forbidden. The motion must be truly perpetual and must not rely on 'natural' energy sources such as wind or tidal or planetary motion. In other words, you are invited to violate accepted fundamental laws in the most convincing way possible," the instructions state.

Robert M. Rose, professor of materials science and engineering, said that the contest is not an exercise in futility, but a great teaching vehicle. Students in a special Concourse class, Problems in Electricity and Magnetism, sometimes "invented" perpetual motion machines or seemingly unlimited supplies of energy.

Ensuing discussions led to spirited arguments, analysis and, according to Professor Rose, "a much deeper understanding of freshman physics... Then it occurred to us that we should extend this challenge to the MIT community at large. The problems presented are meant to stretch the students' minds and give them a better intuitive feel for physics."

I'm sure that John Hutchison would have an alternative design to offer something like this, however, I'm more curious about your responce to perpetual motion machines creating energy.

Mr. Tewari and Mr. McBean should take their rotating/levitating magnet and combine it with a coil and build a self-powered generator, and if it works then see if the concept can be scaled up into a full-scale power plant.   Grin

“The motion must be truly perpetual and must not rely on 'natural' energy sources such as wind or tidal or planetary motion.”

 Roll Eyes

By all means let us place restrictions on the design parameters so that the PM device hasn’t a snowballs chance in hell of ever self-energizing.  Angry

In other words using their rule you have to design a machine that uses no environmental fuel source with which to set itself in motion.

Hence under their rule no PM is possible.  Shocked

First off, all energy and subsequently all motion manifest from the environment, period.

PM machines as well as their conventional counterparts do not create energy they simply convert energy that exists within the known environment e.g. LNER (low nuclear energy reaction), Zero Point Energy (ZPE), which is a generic name for Quantum Electrodynamics.

It just so happens that all of creation is in a state of PM i.e. it is continuously changing states/forms e.g. light into magnetism, magnetism into high voltage electricity, HV elec. into microwave energy etc…

In other words by Comprehending and Copying Nature’s examples it becomes possible to set a device into a state of PM using energy scavenged from the local environment.

A project, sponsored by NASA's Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Program, to study ways of influencing the energy density of the quantum vacuum with a view to possible applications in spacecraft propulsion. It is being conducted by a team of scientists from various academic and corporate institutions in the United States and Mexico.

An idea for achieving faster-than-light travel suggested by the Mexican theoretical physicist Miguel Alcubierre in 1994.1 It starts from the notion, implicit in Einstein's general theory of relativity, that matter causes the surface of spacetime around it to curve. Alcubierre was interested in the possibility of whether Star Trek's fictional "warp drive" could ever be realized. This led him to search for a valid mathematical description of the gravitational field that would allow a kind of spacetime warp to serve as a means of superluminal propulsion. Alcubierre concluded that a warp drive would be feasible if matter could be arranged so as to expand the spacetime behind a starship (thus pushing the departure point many light-years back) and contract the spacetime in front (bringing the destination closer), while leaving the starship itself in a locally flat region of spacetime bounded by a "warp bubble" that lay between the two distortions. The ship would then surf along in its bubble at an arbitrarily high velocity, pushed forward by the expansion of space at its rear and the contraction of space in front. It could travel faster than light without breaking any physical law because, with respect to the spacetime in its warp bubble, it would be at rest. Also, being locally stationary, the starship and its crew would be immune from any devastatingly high accelerations and decelerations (obviating the need for "inertial dampers"), and from relativistic effects such as time dilation (since the passage of time inside the warp bubble would be the same as that outside).

NASA = No Applicant Should Apply Grin

Then look no further than Optically-pumped Cavity-QED Cry

You’re basically describing a Spherical Vortex Implosion Cool

I thought this would interest you.

In fact, I was studying it enough to safely say "yeap", in regaurds to the next revolutionary propultion system for an interplanetary space station.

And then to.

The more innovative designs from used fuel tanks and more tin cans.

Think it over.

E=mc^2

Now put the mass of the universe into this equation.

That's all the energy anyone needs.
