Dammit, Obama! Just make with the puppy already!!!
To think, he really had us going there for a while.

All that "hope" and "change" and "it's not me it's you." We really fell for it. After all these years, we thought that we might finally be able to trust in our leaders again. And then our new leader made us a promise. And in just over a week, he broke it.

Where's our goddamn puppy, Barack?

On last night's "60 Minutes" we learned that the puppy President-Elect Obama promised on election night would not be arriving until a yet-to-be-determined time in the future, after the first family gets "settled." And that this was all part of a deal they had made with their daughters before "America knew about it." It's notable that it was Michelle who delivered this news, perhaps because Barack didn't have the spine to tell us to our faces that he lied.

Mr. President-Elect, do you have any idea the **** you've committed on our hearts? You promised us a puppy, and no matter how cynical we've become or how many times we've been burned, we let ourselves believe it. After all these years, we had a president who said he's gonna buy us a puppy.

We're never gonna believe in anything again.

Mr. President-Elect, you cannot do this! This country gave you your office. This country gave you your mandate. On the night this country chose you as its leader, you looked this country in the eye and promised it a puppy. The promise may have been to your daughters, but it wasn't your daughters you were speaking to that night. It was America.

And now you dare to claim that you'd made a secret agreement with Malia and Sasha long ago which will delay the puppy's purchase? Tell us Mr. President-Elect, are there any other secret back-hallway dealings that we should know about?

Is this really the kind of thing that should be put on the back-burner?

Please don't start off this way Barack. You have a long and bumpy road ahead of you. According to your Vice President you only have six months before facing a generated crisis to test your mettle. If you want us to stand by you during that mettle- testing, GIVE US OUR GODDAMN PUPPY!!!
