And yet, there are those penalties in the United States and it has more crime than any other industrialized country.  I don't really see the penalities as a deterrent.

Nor are more guns the answer.  The answer is to tighten up the regulations to keep the guns out of the hands of the criminals.

Look the places they have the most gun restrictions is where the highest crime rates are.  This is cuz the mafia types buy off the politicians to pass victim disarmament laws that are totally un-Constitutional.

NYC, Los Angeles, Chicago, all high crime areas despite all the gun restrictions.
