Hi Carolyn

What a wonderful thread...

I have already gleaned some ideas for my writing here...

Thank you, for including my poems here, they seem to take on a new more gruesome aspect when placed alongside vampire research.

Out of what crypt they crawl, I cannot tell
But every night I see the rubbery things
Black, horned, and slender, with membraneous wings
And tails that bear the bifid barb of hell.
They come in legions on the north wind's swell,
With obscene clutch that titillates and stings,
Snatching me off on monstrous voyagings
To grey worlds hidden deep in nightmare's well.

I'm glad that you liked it, Unknown!  If some of the material looks familiar, it should, some of it I ripped off of you!

More to come soon.

Well, much like sex on a first date, you are going to have to wait, Mr!

Soon, though!  Wink

So congrats on getting your story published!  Now we need to work on a VAMPIRE story and get that one published!

Have you tried to publish any of your vamp poems from earlier in this thread..?

Hi Carolyn

Thanks...

I am working on a vampire story, I have the outline written, but I am still a little uncertain about the certain elements of the story and the ending. I plan on using several historic vampire cases in a kind of composite vampire-action/romance tale. Of course it will be gothic, as I know so little about the modern world...

I haven't tried to get the vampire poems published, I did submit my epic werewolf poem, "A lone Man Walks A Dark Road." But I didn't realize till after I sent it that it was too long for them to publish, duh.

Hi Carolyn

Glad to see you back, I haven't really tried to get my poetry published, I entered a contest to be published in a horror poems anthology.

I entered this one, it is vamp poem, that goes with my story.

Lorelei

Lorelei, Lorelei, my Lorelei
For you I lament, for you that I cry

On an ill-fated wind is an evil that rides
Waxing, and waning with withering tides
A boon to the locusts, a feast for the flies

Her heart chilled in that somber night’s breeze
Soft whispers from death, brought on her disease
Haunted by shadows with unnatural pleas

Darkness grew around her, so twisted and foul
The rats they would gather, the wolves they would howl
It frightened to flight the hoary night owl

Lorelei, Lorelei, my Lorelei
For you I lament, for you that I cry

I followed her footsteps down that darkened hall
To infernal depths my supernal angel would fall
But I loved her; I loved her, in spite of it all

Her sweet voice intoned, the spell that she sung
As her lips drank away the life of the young
Corrupting and killing her soul was undone

Never to walk again in Sol’s holy light
She abides now within the Plutonian night
The breath of the plague; the bringer of blight

Lorelei, Lorelei, my Lorelei
For you I lament, for you that I cry

It's nice to see you, too!  Nice poem, it has that sad, eternally damned vamp feel about it!  I am surprised you didn't fit that word, "die" in there as it rhymes perfectly with "cry!"   Very nice self-restraint!

Ha ha

I probably just didn't think of die, cry... lol...

I saw your Bram Stoker thread, I read a short story of his I thinks called, The Judges house.

Not sure, if that is the exact name. It was about a man who wanted to get away from it all and rented this house but it is infested with rats. You will have to read the story though I don't want to give away the ending... it is very much like a Poe story as far as plot development.

Is anyone really sure that vampires are really a myth??

I have always been obsessed with vampires. And, I have always wondered if they ARE real. So, how do we know, for certain, if they do exist or not?? Roll Eyes  Because, witches are real, RIGHT??
