Rare and previously unreleased Bob Dylan tracks from 1989 - 2006. This is a 2-disc, 27-song set.
Dylan never had a great voice to begin with, but he had just the right voice for his lyrics that evoked a generation. Over time, he evolved through different stages of his artistic talent, always surprising his fans.
His voice is tinnier now than the authentic Midwestern twang of his younger years, but the soul of America's greatest original lyricist of the last 50 years is still there.
This is likely to be a connoiseur's officially released "bootleg" collector's item. If you're into Dylan, he rarely disappoints even if sometimes now he sounds like a wire strung between two tin cans. His voice is somewhere between the intimate urgency of his youthful years and Tom Waits.
And that's not necessarily a bad place to be.
