The world's oldest surviving Rolls Royce was sold at a London auction for $7.3 million -- the highest price ever paid for a car built before 1905 and is also the most ever paid for a Rolls Royce.

A possible buyer views motor cars for sale at the Bonham's Car Auction in London. The Important Collectors' Motor Car sale was for one day only. While there were many interesting vehicles there, it was the world's oldest Rolls-Royce that stole the show.

The previous record for a car built before 1905 was $3.4 million, the price paid for a 1884 De Dion Bouton.
