Hi Bianca,

Don't get discouraged, you are almost there.

Yes, right click a second time on the URL address (whcih you wll find in the center of the message box, "Propertes"). The secret is to copy the web address and post it here.

Read through the steps again and give it a try.

I'll post the steps on this page, too, for convenience's sake:

The steps are as follows:

1. Right click on the picture.

2. A menu pops up, and the bottom choice is one that says, "properties."  You'll want to select that.

3. In the Properties Box that pops up afterwards, in the middle of the box is an item that says Address (URL).

4. Right Click on that and another menu box pops up.  Hit "select all."  The URL address should now be higlighted, then hit "okay."

5. Right click yet another time and this time, choose, "copy," once again, hit "okay."

6.  Next, paste the URL address in your post and highlight it.  This is done by dragging your cursor across the URL address.

7. Above the smiley icons are an array of buttons. Click on the second one on the bottom row, which looks like a framed picture, in blue and green.

URL tags (IMG) should now surround the URL address.

8.  Hit, "post," at the bottom of your post.

I'll try something better looking this time than Mr. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle:

Ok - so when the "Properties" box drops down, one has to highlight the address - right? Then "right" click on the highlighted address, then click copy.  Ok, I'm going to try it.

  I think that worked!

I like your picture better!

Well, I was able to SUCCESSFULLY post THREE pic's, one after the other.

On the fourth, a wonderful, really close up of Houdini - it had blown up to the size
of Akhanaton in that section [I don't know how I did THAT], it didn't work.

I've been trying ever since, no dice.

I'll keep trying til I get it right.

Thank you, Elric!

Congratulations, Bianca, I knew you could do it.

In answer to a couple of other questions you had, some pictures post bigger than others because they are of higher resolution and so, of a greater size (most small pictures are under 100k, while bigger ones are over 100k).

Just to let you, not all picture posting will be successful. Some sites block hotlinking (like the one above), and you get an icon or a red square as opposed to the picture itself.

Then, the best way to get around that (if it's a picture you really want to post) is to download the picture onto your computer and use the method that Mark mentioned in his original post.  That one takes a little more time, though, so I always try this other method first.

It's stopped now, and the picture is still there.

When I first saw that picture I thought he was looking straight INTO my
eyes.  It's almost alive.  And I was determined to put it here at AO,
MYSELF, I didn't want anybody else to do it.  So, the last time I tried,
after many failures, I mentally asked him to help.  And, voila', it took.

Maybe the "GOING ON AND OFF' was just to tell me OK, old girl!
We  DID it!
Kind of winking at me.  I always had a feeling that he had a great
sense of humour in life.

Maybe, that's it. -  Well, I am a Spiritualist, after all, myself........

At least he didn't materialize in my apartment.  And to think his poor fans
still hold a seance in Niagara Falls, every year on Hallowe'en and nothing
happens!

Funny, Bianca.  No, you are not losing your mind.  Large pictures simply need more time to load, that's it. So either wait or hot the "refresh" button on the page and it will come up.

If a picture stops loading (and isn't going to), the red 'X' will appear and you'll know that the link has been broken.  I hope you have as much fun with it (posting pictures) as everyone else is having.

Well, Elric......(tongue in cheek)  I do believe the Gentleman was sending
me a congratulatory message........

You know, spirits do like to come through electronics.  Ask Para/Here
ForNow, he'll tell you.......

Thank you, Elric, I'll be forever grateful.  I've already been posting pictures all
over.  I feel like I graduated to "something".....

Love and Peace,

PSSSST, Elric,

The pictures are GONE, again, in BOTH places........

The other picture was #32, in the Arthur Conan Doyle thread in
"Communicating with the Dead"

Look what's in their place.....................

Hi Bianca,

Yes, if you are talking about this picture:

It's like I said earlier, some sites simply don't allow "hotlinking" and take measures against it.  It's nothing you did.  Best thing to do in that case is to simply substitute another picture.

If you do a Google search under "images," you'll have your choice of them.

Your other pictures have all come up - that's a job well done.

Darn, Elric, it WAS a great close-up though, wasn't it?

I got the original from which the close up was taken.  Nor as
good, but I hope it stays!

P.S.  In case anyone wants to see the close up we're talking about, go to GOOGLE IMAGES
-Houdini - it's a close up of the face in the photograph above.  Enlarge it, it's beautiful.
