Interview with Chuck Baldwin  (7/7/08)

Listen: IPR exclusive interview with Chuck Baldwin from July 7
July 14th, 2008 · No Comments

On July 7, 2008, Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin took time out of his busy campaign schedule to answer IPR reader questions and make his case to Libertarians disgruntled with Bob Barr. A full report on the interview was published that day. Now IPR’s new YouTube account has audio of the interview, split into two parts.

Part I features questions about homosexuality, abortion, the Federal Reserve, free trade, and immigration.

Part II features questions about online gambling, debates, the federal government’s relationship with the D.C., foreign policy, and Baldwin’s pitch to Libertarians.

The question of which historical figure Baldwin would seek to emulate as president had to be cut for time (YouTube videos cannot exceed 10 minutes). Baldwin said figures he admired and would attempt to emulate included George Washington, Thomas Jefferson (”even though I would not agree with all of his spiritual views”), Patrick Henry, John Jay, and John Adams. Among modern figures, Baldwin said Ron Paul was one of his heroes.
