CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA                                                      continued

The Toltecs claimed to have originated in a land called Azlan or Atlan;
the original home of the Nahautlacas was Aztlan; the Aztecs also tell
of their ancestors from Aztlan.

According to the POPUL VUH, after their migration from Aztlan the three
sons of the king of the Quiches, upon the death of their father, "........
determined to go as their fathers had ordered to the East, on the shores
of the sea whence their fathers had come, to receive the royalty, "bid-
ding adieu to their brothers and friends and promising to return."

The information gleaned from blood samples taken from Inca mummies
tends to suggest that the royal families, anyway, hailed from the "Old
Country", and the lands over which they ruled could certainly be classed
as Atlantean colonies of the first order.
