Associated Press - June 17, 2008 8:55 AM ET

Corrected Version

SPARROWBUSH, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of the man who drowned in the Delaware River over the weekend. State police say 25-year-old Serge Bien-Aime Junior of Westtown was wading in the river in Orange County on Saturday when he lost his footing and was swept into deeper water. Bien-Aime moved upstate from Queens three years ago and worked as a trainer at a gym in Middletown.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Hailstones the size of golf balls rained down on areas of western New York yesterday. The deluge left dented cars and lawns covered with an icy coating. The thunderstorms that brought the hail storm were blamed for some power outages across New York. The stormy weather also canceled yesterday afternoon's Hall of Fame Game in Cooperstown, the last one scheduled after nearly 70 years of major league teams playing exhibition games in the upstate baseball town.

GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - An Orange County grand jury has indicted a man who was alleged drunk behind the wheel when his car plowed into another vehicle, killing an 8-year-old girl. Bryanna Holland was killed earlier this year while on her way home from an after-school program. Forty-3-year-old Francis Circosta of New Windsor is accused of driving with a blood-alcohol concentration more than twice the legal limit.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York State Police are taking steps to help parents protect their children from predators who use the Internet. Later this morning in Albany, state police Deputy Superintendent Pedro Perez will announce Operation Safe Internet, an effort to alert parents to the potential dangers children face when they're using computers.

Sounds more like NYSP wanting more Orwellian monitoring of everyone's internet.  Sounds noble, but the problem with NYS is that government types got their fingers in everyone's pie and the cops just want to find yet another excuse to fill the prisons.  Give CPS and the cops more "patriot-act" style authority.  Shocked  Hell no !!!!! Angry Angry Angry
