The Zambales Mountains are located on the Island of Luzon, the Philippines.

ABSTRACT

A stone tablet from Zambales Mountains found in 1985 shows the location of the lost island of Atlantis . The lines on the artifact when plotted in a world stress map being developed by USGS falls along the compression zone (causing mountains) and spreading centers (creating rifts and basins) around the globe thereby giving impression that these lines represents the “force” that reshapes the surface of the earth and creating geological stresses around the entire planet.

The attributed location of Atlantis discovered on the overlying surface of the stone map when projected in a dynamic earth map using Vector Graphics Editor, falls along the geographical locations of Iceland, Ireland, the British Isles, Madeira, Canary Islands, Cape Verde and the Azores. These islands have stories recounting their ancestors descending from a mighty race that inhabited an island in the Atlantic believed to be the legendary Atlantis.

Recent discoveries on both sides of the Atlantic revealing submerge structures like walls, buildings, pyramids, roads and sometimes outline of a complex urban development is a clear proof of Atlantis- an island that was destroyed by natural forces and finally resting at the bottom of the ocean floor 11,000 years ago after a world-wide catastrophe.

This paper analyzes data from seismology, oceanography, underwater and satellite photography during 17-year study and comparing with information from the stone map resulting to a hypothesis presented herein.

The analysis shows that the Atlantis figure at the stone map is in the same geographical location as described by Plato in Critias and Timaeus, thereby giving credence to the cartographic sketch of Atlantis drawn by Athanasius Kircher in 1665.

1. INTRODUCTION

Since the time of Plato up to the present, many thinkers and historians have been debating as to where the true location of Atlantis- an island that sunk to the ocean floor in “ a terrible day and night “ according to the accounts given by Plato in Critias and Timaeus. In the eyes of Donnelly, Berlitz and countless historians and thinkers of our time, Plato serves as an authority, a philosopher who wrote a great work that started the most elusive quest of modern history - the search for the lost island of Atlantis .

While the works of Plato are always quite intriguing, scholars have generally accepted that certainly not all of the written accounts stated in Critias and Timaeus were true. Though these dialogues contain some similar subject matter about Atlantis, accordingly it was a product of the inventive and speculative mind of Plato (Lee, 1977). Lee proposed a theory that the lost island of Atlantis is within the Mediterranean and speculated that the Minoan Crete was Atlantis. This influential theory was derived from the earlier works of Frost, Luce and Carpenter citing seismological, climatic change and archaeological evidence.

Over the past 35 years, renewed interest on Plato's lost island has caused some scholars to search not only the Atlantic ocean floor but also the Bahama Banks, the Ampere Seamount, Thera and other parts of the world looking for evidence that could reveal the exact location of the legendary Atlantis. Interestingly, scholars like Valentine, Collins and other who have taken this task have reached contradictory conclusions ranging from the belief that Canary Islands is the lost island to Bimini as part of Atlantis and recent speculations suggesting Cuba as the lost island with the discovery of the underwater structures by Paulina Zelitsky in 2000.

2. THE CODED STONE MAP

In 1985, the authors with a group of amateur fossil collectors discovered a stone slab with geometrical lines on its upper surface along the slopes of Zambales Mountains , a range thrust upwards due to the subduction of Asian Plate into the Manila Trench. It was first thought that the lines are of a fossilized insect but when it was brought to the National Museum in Manila for identification, it was known that the stone was made of basalt- a hard, dense, dark volcanic material usually composed of augite, plagioclase and magnetite. This type of material is not easily weathered thru the passing of time.

Table.1 Stone Map Measurements

For 3 successive years, the authors consulted geologists, seismologists and archaeologists to ask their opinion regarding the possible interpretation of the geometrical lines on the overlying surface of the stone slab. A geologist from National Museum based in Manila gave an opinion that the lines are “veins”, a regularly and lengthy occurrence of an ore or lode. Another researcher of the same institution insists that the lines were natural formations due to the exposure of the stone to different weather conditions in the past. These ideas does not conform to the theory put forth by the authors because they believe the following:

•  The discovered stone slab is indeed a map showing topographical features.

•  The embossed lines on the upper surface of the stone represents the “force” that reshapes the surface of the earth and creating geological stresses around the entire planet.

The stone map shows different geographical features of the world including the location of the legendary lost island of Atlantis .

Thank you, Jeremy, nice to "see" you again.

But I can't take the credit.  Our friend Dhill reported this unusual find and I just copied it here.

He is an extraordinary researcher!  You'll find the original in Atlantis in the Atlantic Ocean.

Love and Peace,
