Was there an ancient civilization there years ago?

It's believed that beneath Lake Vostok represents a lost world, harboring organisms of millions of years ago.

Deep under Antarctic ice lies Lake Vostok. Russian scientists are the first to study the ancient lake and believe it could contain undiscovered organisms. However, some fear that the Russians are moving too fast, writes Christian Lowe.

Hidden about 4 kilometers beneath the ice near the South Pole lies a lake that scientists believe represents a lost world, harboring organisms sealed off from the rest of the planet for millions of years.

Russian researchers are drilling down through the ice towards Lake Vostok as they seek to unlock the secrets of what some say is the last great unexplored frontier on earth.

The lake under the Antarctic ice is uniquely important precisely because it is so pristine, but all that could be lost forever if the tiniest particle of outside matter is allowed in when the Russian drill pokes through into the water.

Many experts say ultra-clean technology to pierce through to the lake without contamination is not yet ready. Yet Russian scientists have already drilled down to within about 130 meters of the lake and - defying misgivings from their peers in other countries - say they will break through by 2008.

Head of the Russian Antarctic Expedition, Valery Lukin said: "The drilling will continue. We are not violating any rules. If our activities don't suit people, what can I say?

"It's like this: Who was the first to fly to the moon? The former Soviet Union or the United States? That time the Americans won and we halted our lunar program," he said. "Now this time we are going to be first. So what? We just got luckier, that's all. It's all been turned into politics. Some people don't like (what we are doing) because it is not them doing it."

Russian scientists finished their latest stint of drilling earlier this year, rushing to beat the onset of the Antarctic winter in a spot where the coldest temperature ever - minus 89.2 degrees Celsius - was recorded.

They bored 27 meters deeper towards the lake and plan to start again in December. Antarctic has more than 70 sub-glacial lakes. They exist because the pressure of the ice above keeps the water from freezing.

But Lake Vostok, at between 15 and 20 million years old, is thought to be the oldest. Exploring the lake will be like taking a journey back through time to discover what life looked like before man appeared on earth, say scientists. "Things like antibiotics that we have come up with, all the pollutants ... that are man-made, none of those have ever been seen by this lake," Dr Cynan Ellis-Evans of the British Antarctic Survey said.

With so much at stake, the Russians are moving too fast, said Ellis-Evans. "We are desperately worried ... that they are planning to go at (this lake) with a system which they haven't satisfied everybody is appropriate," he said. "If something goes wrong ... we could be left with a situation which may not be easily retrievable."

Vostok has an added fascination for scientists because conditions there - cold, with no light or air - mirror those on Europa, one of Jupiter's moons where space probes have found evidence of an ocean below the frozen surface.

If living organisms are found in the lake, it could strengthen the argument for the presence of life beyond our planet. Lake Vostok is a prestige project for Russia. Russia's Antarctic research station is a few hundred meters from the bore hole and gave its name to the lake when its existence was established in 1996.

Russia, in agreement with other countries involved in Antarctic research, suspended drilling in 1998 while a safe technique for breaching the ice was sought.

Since then, Russia has restarted drilling, saying it believed it had come up with the right technique. "There can be no negative effect (or) contamination of the lake," said Lukin. "I base this certainty on the laws of physics and practical experience (of the use of similar techniques elsewhere)."

Under the 1961 Antarctic Treaty, all nations are free to carry out civilian, non-nuclear research on the continent as long as they share their plans and their findings with other countries - something Russia has done throughout.

Ellis-Evans said he would be delighted if the Russians became the first to reach Lake Vostok. His main concern, he said, is that it is done without damaging the very thing that makes the lake so fascinating for scientists.

"(This is) arguably one of the most pristine environments on Earth so how can we possibly think of just clumsily going in there and potentially contaminating it?" he said. "We are ... worried that everybody is going to lose out."

Parallelly, while the Germanic cientists improved VRIL, the HAUNEBU,and the RFZ , other " strangers " events had,  they were happened quickly, starting from 1938.

But we begin for this part of the history of the XX Century , partially ignored, and that involved Portugal directly.

One of the great problems that they came across in the XX Century, after the I World War  (1914-1918), it was the mail transport between Europe and America. Already then, in the twenties, two companies disputed the correspondence transport through Atlantic: Pan American Airwais, North American, and Lufthansa, German.

 

As the trips were long and still for top, on the vast ocean, problems replenishment logistics and maintenance were placed, to the airplanes of those companies, that ended for opting for they use hydroplanes, that, for road it rules, they did of the  Azores islnads as replenishment point. 

Being very difficult gone down in the Azores sea , the Germans got in an ingenious way to surpass the problem, with low costs: the ship-catapult use, that they traveled Atlantic, throwing the airplanes destined for the continents, when its autonomy allowed it. For norm, and for meeting very located, of Azores Islands, became scale point and of it picks up of the airplanes, in its return. Using a long screen " strip dragged " by the ships, this reduced the existent the sea undulation ( the height of the waves),  facilitating it "gone down in the sea of the Lufthansa hydroplanes .

Some ship-catapult became famous; among them I highlight the BREMEN, the WESTFALEN and the SCHWAABENLAND. This last one, built in 1925, threw hydroplanes of 14 tons to 150 Km/h.

 

The SCHWAABENLAND was a modern ship, well equipped, with sophisticated communications systems,  and with an excellent meteorological station, tends as operational base some times, the HORTA harbor, some times Faial harbor, Azores.


On May 24, 1939 the ship was visited by the North American president's brother Roosevelt. On that same day, the commandant of the ship, with expressed order from Berlin, it left of the  Azores Islands to Germany where, after a fast and effective repair, he goes for the Antarctica, in Southern Hemisphere. Its mission is the one of to occupy and to demarcate a territory portion of that continent, with about 600.000 Km squares, claiming that area as being German possession the one that gave the name of NEU-SCHABENLAND (New Sueve).

The subject was already lifted in the parliament of the Federal Republic, once there is not any law that prohibits it! ! !

One of the people that integrated this expedition into Antarctica was HELMUT WOHLTHAT, that was the main consultant of GOERING (Boss of  the German Air Force, and that,  it was element of cupula of the VRIL society ). HELMUT WOHLTHAT,  elaborated an extensive report of this expedition to Antarctica giving it personally GOEING on May 9, 1938.

In October of 1939 (about one month after the beginning of World War II) the ship SCHABENLAND it is given to the LUFTWAFFE (German Air Force). On December 17, 1939, the ship leaves again of  Hamburg harbor, Germany,  in direction to the Antarctica Continent, " packed " of cientists and equipment, to install a " base ". Going by Portugal, with destination to Southern Hemisphere, the ship also transported airplanes throwers of harpoons to do " demarcations " of the busy area, in the Antarctica...

Returned Hamburg in April 11, 1940, the ship and respective crew was received in Germany, as heroes.

In August of 1942, the ship was transferred for a base in Norway (already occupied by Germany), accompanied of one  escort of 24 war ships. During about a year and half nobody knew where it was and... it was not possible to find any record on its "whereabouts". There is to have in attention that,  a section of the territory occupied by the Germans in Antarctica, it was attributed " to Norway, for scientific experiences , by the Society Nations.

 

On May 19, 1943 the allied forces suspected since something of strange happened in the " Antarctica German base "  because of the great " movement " of submarines in direction to the South Atlantic. The North American president, Roosevelt, informed in a missive to the president from Brazil, correspondent through its ambassador, that the portuguese primer minister, Dr. Salazar, doesn't give the agreement for the installation of a North American aerial base in Azores, because the Germans get ready to install in the Islands a submarines base, once, frequently there they made scale, as it is verified in the document that transcribes partially to proceed:

This situation did with that English and North American commandants were to prepare an operation " to occupy " temporarily the Canarias and Cabo Verde Islands.

On May 23, 1944, an intelligence services document, affirmed that "Salazar continues to play with the time" before giving an answer to the request formulated by the North Americans.

   Hi Stacy.  No one’s posted here in a while, it seems, but I find this subject interesting and I just noticed it.  There are so many wonderful threads here at Atlantis Online, I don’t have enough time to participate in all of them! 

A while back, (years ago in fact), the Weekly World News was running articles on “The Face on Mars.”  They ran articles about scientists finding similar “faces” on the dark side of the Moon, Venus, Jupiter's moon Europa, and appropriately under 200 feet of ice in Antarctica. 

I’m well aware that the ”Weekly World News” is not the most reputable reporting source.  However when it comes to anything remotely of “alien” origin I pay some attention because of something I had read in “The Day After Roswell” by Lt. Col. Corso.  In his book, after detailing exact dates as to when he released alien technology recovered from the Roswell site, he asserts that the cover up worked so well that the “super secret agency” created to deal with the Roswell incident, was forced to periodically release information to the rag sheets because they were the only ones who would even print it!  I know this smacks of X-Files stuff, but he wrote his book well before the X-Files made this “super secret agency” theories seem preposterous. 
 
So getting back to the point, have you ever heard anything about this “Face On Mars” kind of structure, under the ice in Antarctica?   I’ve heard all about the lake.  I’m quite familiar with the Peri Reis maps.  I’m not a believer in the Ice Age theory.  And I’m of the opinion that a pole shift occurred that placed a tropical continent at the South Pole for an instant deep freeze.  Personally I think there’s way too much digging going on there for it to be just about some microbes, LOL.

Hi mdsungate!

I have never heard anything about a Marslike face underneath the ice of Antarctica, but if you got anything on it, I would sure like to see it!  The anomaly in the satellite images is the clearest thing I can point to of something concealed beneath the ice. Apparently, that could be Plato's circular city.I am all for pole shifts, and I have had lots of arguments with the so-called "scientists" around here about the value of ice cores and their indications of how old the climate of Antarctica is.  We do know it was warm once for sure for the simple matter that dinosaur bones have also been found there.

I believe in ice ages, but I don't think that they were as pervasive as they make them out to be - how they get the exact dates is sure beyond me.

Meanwhile, if you believe in even limited ice age theories you should read this article from the latest issuse of Atlantis Rising.  I'll post some of it here, but I haven't even read the whole article myself yet.  They only let you download sample issuses now, and not the whole magazine, so it only goes so far before it gets continued on a page that you can't read unless you buy the magazine.  But here's the first part of it:

I n the beginning, the future earth was but a molten mass of fiery gases. Like
all corporeal worlds, its destiny was to begin in fire and end in ice. For 19th
century science, this was a stable dictum—“A constant heat loss from a once fiery earth.”
The flaming earth, of course, had to cool quite a bit before we could go for a walk in
the park. But it is the steady and trifling loss of heat that concerns us most. According to
Isaac Asimov, there is an “eighty-millionyear trend of dropping temperature.” (It’s actually as old as the earth itself.) Certainly this natural and very gradual cooling is intrinsically tied to the simultaneous decrease in the planet’s rotational speed; for all young planets whirl about with a blooming velocity
that Nature tames, little by little. Infant earth spun around her axis in only 14 hours. planet Earth, in fact, is no youngster, some scientists openly lamenting our “geriatric” globe, as witnessed by decreases in vulcanism, sky-falls, continent formation, rainfall, seismic activity, and rotation speed.

Of all the sacred cows that scientific fundamentalism “hugs forever” (William James’
phrase), the Ice Age—and now its stepchild, global warming—is among the most tenacious. Both “Ice Age” and “Global Warming” ask us to promiscuously abandon the age-old march of Geologic Time, i.e., the earth’s minute but incessant loss of heat, and install, in its place a recurring scene of universal refrigeration (ice ages) and, more recently, a frightening tableau of escalating temperatures (global warming).

The idea of Mother Earth changing her habit mid-career, of periodically freezing and
thawing, like the ground in early spring,turning on and off throughout the aeons like
a grand machine—came along, not surprisingly, at the birth of the Industrial Age;
whose mechanistic way set the stage for our scientific models.

Let us begin with a brief look at the chaos of modern science whose glaring lack
of consensus places their pet theories on thin ice, indeed.

Wildly conjectural and obscenely contradictory, these are the clashing “facts” of the
Ice Ages, as set forth by our most notable deans of science:

Ice ages occur every 250 million years;no, make that every 250 thousand years; or,
every 100,000 years; or “several hundreds of thousands of years;” or perhaps, 40,000
years.

When was the first ice age? 300 thousand years ago? 300 million years ago? A billion
years ago?

How long do ice ages last? 100,000 years? “Tens of millions of years”? How many ice
ages have there been?—ten of them in the last million years; four of them in the last
million years; four in the last 600 million years; “five ice ages altogether.”

And when did the last ice age end?— 6,000 years ago;—40,000 years ago;—11,000
years ago;—27,000 years ago;—1,000 years ago. or Does ‘Shift’ Happen?

Had enough?

If scientists are light-years away from agreeing on the vital statistics of ice ages, it’s
for a good reason. There never was an ice age. School’s out.

So let’s scroll back 150 years and see why Charles Darwin was almost forced to fabricate ice ages. Father Darwin, it seems, could not account for the presence of the same animal species inhabiting the far reaches of both northern and southern hemispheres.
How could cold-weather animals have traversed the equatorial zones? Or did they?Ultimately, Darwin postulated “advancing ice” to explain their presence in different corners of the world. Here’s how Darwin’s “ice ages” solved the tickiestzoologicalpuzzle of the 19th century:

When the hypothetical “glacial period” descended upon the north, animals slowly
migrated southward. During the next “interglacial” (warm period—The Big Defrost), some of those heavy-coated beasts returned north again, but others apparently remained
in equatorial regions, finding refuge from heat in the cool mountains. And when the
next “ice age” came along (this is the important part)—it came from the south. Some
kind of alternating pattern.

 Well, those animals ensconced in the southern highlands climbed down from their
wuthering heights for warmer pastures. And, as Darwin reasoned, when the next “interglacial” warm set in, those same beasts moved (Continued on Page 31)

My personal views on the Ice Age are built on the "Book of the Hopi" by Frank Waters, Viking Press (1963)

The Hopi Indians are perhaps the oldest surviving civilization of the human race.  They trace not one world wide cataclysm, (as in the Flood of Noah), but two others before that.  This is the forth world, according to their myths.  In their acient religion they correctly depict the world as a giant soccer ball, (a ball with pieces sewn together, as in tectonic plates), which revolves on it's axis.  According to their myths the world was first destroyed by Fire and they survived by decending into the inside of the hollow earth at an entrance at the North Pole to live with "the ant people" (who are humanoid but have very thin waistes.). 

The second destruction of the world occured when the twin giants who guard the axises of the earth, deserted their poles.  The earth tumbled helplessly in the void of space, and the oceans spilled over the continents until the whole earth froze into a solid sheet of ice. The Hopi again survived by going inside the earth to live with the and people.   

Now that's what I call an Ice Age!  It's a very, very ancient myth and it's the best darn explaination of the Ice Age I've ever heard, and this from a people who shouldn't even know that the earth is round, but do.

   Oops, I forgot to include that this would be before the third world that, according to the Hopi, was destroyed by a Flood, (go figure!).  So I guess this would place an Ice Age quite a ways back!  Personally I'm thinking at least 500,000 years ago.

One thing I found quite interesting in Admiral Byrd's writings was that he observed- I paraphrase as the book is not at hand- "a coal seam so large that it would serve the needs of all the Earth for decades to come."

With all the erergy mumbo jumbo aside there are an awfully large amount of uses for coal in energy production in a clean manner.  All coal use is not dirty.  Of course there is a moratorium on any exploitation of resources there so.......

Hi Wanderer, don't you think there should be?  Tamper around too much over there and you'll get even more melting ice, which wouldn't be good!

It's a moot point since the US has a lot of coal resources but there is little in research unfolding to use it in any way other then the old fashioned stoking of furnaces.

Hey Stacy and Helios, have you ever considered that this might be representative of something else.  The angels do work in the poles of the planet , thats where they jettison of to other parts of the universe usually transporting a soul from the poles thats where the apparent energy they require for this feat is concentrated of which connects with the universal energy circuits lanes that lays between planets and solar systems.

What was uncovered could be the homes of the angels, like in Superman.

Here is some research that I believe might point to the home of the Angels and may connect with the above image.

Electric disturbances in the air and in the earth were also decreasing. The lava flows had brought to the surface a mixture of elements which diversified the crust and better insulated the planet from certain space-energies. And all of this did much to facilitate the control of terrestrial energy and to regulate its flow, as is disclosed by the functioning of the magnetic poles.

The erroneous idea that angels possess wings is not wholly due to olden notions that they must have wings to fly through the air. Human beings have sometimes been permitted to observe seraphim that were being prepared for transport service, and the traditions of these experiences have largely determined the Urantian concept of angels. In observing a transport seraphim being made ready to receive a passenger for interplanetary transit, there may be seen what are apparently double sets of wings extending from the head to the foot of the angel. In reality these wings are energy insulators--friction shields.

When celestial beings are to be enseraphimed for transfer from one world to another, they are brought to the headquarters of the sphere and, after due registry, are inducted into the transit sleep. Meantime, the transport seraphim moves into a horizontal position immediately above the universe energy pole of the planet. While the energy shields are wide open, the sleeping personality is skillfully deposited, by the officiating seraphic assistants, directly on top of the transport angel. Then both the upper and lower pairs of shields are carefully closed and adjusted.

Could this be the home of the "the universe energy pole of the planet."  the headquarters of the Seraphim's.   The 3 concentric circles is the emblem of Paradise and of the Angles including the Sage of Salem, Machiventa Melchizedek.  Could this be the great headquarters of the planet of the Angels including the Melchizedeks, in the most isolated part of the planet under all that ice.

To me it looks very convincing.  If this is right, what another discovery.

this could be a big breakthrough!

Here is the image that the Germans were working on and I wonder if its very close to the concentric circles underneath the ice and also its very very close to the Magnetic pole.

we could of solved this puzzle and possibly confirmed the home of the Angels in the most isolated spot on the earth like Superman's home.

There is no way to prove it except go there and perform studies and research but this could be a basis.
